SunExpress and the Community Volunteers Foundation Collaborate on the ‘Sky Explorers’ Project
SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, is launching the ‘Sky Explorers’ project in collaboration with the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) to introduce aviation to children affected by the earthquake in the disaster zone, ignite their imaginations, and open new horizons for them. The project aims to allow children to explore the world of aviation, dream new dreams, and develop different talents.
Through workshops guided by volunteer SunExpress employees, children will have the opportunity to explore fun and informative content about aircraft structure, cabins, cockpits, ground processes, and sustainability in aviation. The program, enriched with interactive games, will transform learning into an enjoyable and educational experience, allowing children to discover both the sky and the processes on the ground, while embarking on an inspiring journey in the world of aviation.
Max Kownatzki, CEO of SunExpress, said about the project: "We believe that aviation is not only a profession but also an exciting journey full of discovery and passion for learning. With the ‘Sky Explorers’ project, we aim to provide children with a new source of inspiration and strengthen their hopes for the future. It is a great joy for us to touch their lives and contribute to the creation of new dreams."
Ayşe Kırımlı, General Manager of the Community Volunteers Foundation, stated: “Since 2002, we have been working to empower young people and create social benefit together with them. Through our Support Centers project, implemented in five cities after the disaster, we aim to contribute to the recovery process by targeting not only young people but also children and adults. Our Support Centers are open to the volunteer experiences of every institution and individual. Because we know that everyone can transform their expertise into social benefit and create value. The ‘Sky Explorers’ project we initiated with SunExpress is one of the best examples of this. Through this project, we aim to bring children together in our Support Centers in different cities and offer them an interactive experience in the field of aviation. We thank SunExpress for this meaningful collaboration."
Through the ‘Sky Explorers’ project, SunExpress and TOG aim to open the doors of the aviation world to children affected by the earthquake and inspire those who dream of a career in aviation. The first stage of the project, which will take place in four Support Centers in Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, and İskenderun, will begin in Adıyaman in December.
